Cute Kids Love Regional Transit
Last week we showed you what Detroit's transit system looks like: uncoordinated, inefficient, and confusing for riders. It just doesn't work well enough to be a viable solution for many potential users. But many potential users want or need a transit system that efficiently gets them where they need to go--to jobs, to school, to health care, or to entertainment. A Regional Transit Authority would create one single system to efficiently run metro Detroit's buses and trains, creating jobs, helping the environment, and saving money for residents around the region.
It's time for Michigan's leaders to get on board with this important solution. These kids get it. Will our legislature? Will Governor Snyder? Take a look at the video, and then write to Governor Snyder, the members of the Transportation Committees, and the leaders of the House and Senate. Tell them that you support an RTA, and that you want to see them support it--now.
This video was produced by Let's Save Michigan and the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan, as part of CEDAM's transportation episode of "The Bright Side."
