“Cool” Factor Lures Young & Artsy With Detroit’s Gritty Urban Appeal
According to the Detroit News, Detroit has discovered its marketing niche with the young, daring and bohemian. Placemaking efforts are changing the city's image and drawing the kind of youthful energy that's vital to a 21st century community.
"My friends in New York, L.A., Europe all think Detroit is really cool, and, thankfully, so do more and more people here. The energy seems great right now," said Angela Topacio, an artist and managing partner of Gyro Creative Group downtown.
