Complete the Complete Streets Movement in Michigan

Last year hundreds of Michiganders advocated for a Complete Streets bill, which would help Michigan design transportation that works for all users--whether walking or in wheelchairs, whether driving cars or bikes, whether riding the bus or taking a train.  But we still have a lot of work to do before complete streets are a reality in Michigan.  Here's an update from complete streets advocate Rory Neuner.

There are two immediate ways you can help.  First, email Governor Snyder to tell him that we need flexible transportation options and that implementation of complete streets should be a priority.

Next, help us create a library of images, videos, and stories that show examples of the good, the bad, and the ugly in Michigan's current transportation system.  We'll advocate for more of the good--and less of the bad (and ugly).

You can share your ideas via our upload page, or you can share them on Twitter and Facebook.  Just be sure to use hashtags so we can find your contributions:

  • #MiTransWorks to show the good ideas.
  • #MiTransFail to show the bad.
  • #MiTransVision to talk about your vision for Michigan's transportation system.

Together we'll create a compelling picture of the transportation solutions Michigan needs!
