Bus Rapid Transit Workshop in Detroit

What is Bus Rapid Transit? What would BRT look like in Southeast Michigan? How have Bus Rapid systems fared in other cities? The Bus Rapid Transit System Overview Workshop seeks to answer these questions and more.

The Workshop will be held July 19th 2:00 – 4:00pm at the Erma L. Henderson Auditorium at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center and will feature a panel of presenters including Dennis Hinebaugh, Director of the National Bus Rapid Transit Institute, Joseph Calabrese, General Manager of the Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority, Sam Zimmerman the Urban Transport Advisor at the World Bank  and Sean Libberton, Director of Capital Project Initiatives at the Federal Transit Administration.

As Michigan cities weigh how mass transit can benefit their communities, it is important to know what transit options exists and how they can be incorporated with each other to create a truly multimodal transit system. Events like the Bus Rapid Transit Workshop are a great way to learn from the experts about specific transit options and what they could look like in your community.
