Adventures in Detroit Transit
Detroit has a public transit system. For the most part, it's safe, clean, and timely.
What it's not: efficient, convenient, or user-friendly.
LSM's Sean Mann attempted to get from his home in Southwest Detroit to his parents' house in Livonia, relying solely on public transit. The ensuing adventure, while not horrible, was certainly not positive enough to make Sean wish for a return trip. See for yourself.
We can fix this. A Regional Transit Authority (RTA) would create a single entity to manage transportation systems in and around Detroit--ensuring the connectivity that the 21st century requires. A single system would create jobs, lead to economic development--and cut Sean's trip in half.
You can help make an RTA a reality by letting our leaders know that you support it. Tell Lansing that you want an RTA for southeast Michigan, and you want it now.
